This is an exciting opportunity to join EWB-USA and make a meaningful impact on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education and engagement!
The STEM Program Coordinator position is supported through multiple grants and is an essential member of the Volunteer Engagement team at Engineers Without Borders USA (EWB-USA). The STEM Program Coordinator will focus on expanding EWB-USA's STEM program, primarily through volunteer recruitment, coordination with educational institutions, content development, and program reporting.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Coordination:
Serve as a primary contact for program inquiries from volunteers, community college partners, and the public.
Conduct outreach to recruit and engage community colleges and EWB-USA volunteers to participate and support STEM workshop sessions.
Coordinate with community colleges and other groups to schedule activities and ensure successful program implementation.
Collaborate on content development for STEM activities and ensure content aligns with community college needs and EWB-USA’s mission.
Assist with reporting program activities and outcomes to funders and stakeholders.
Volunteer Management:
Develop and implement strategies for recruiting and retaining volunteers for STEM programs.
Broaden the talent pool by engaging a diverse group of volunteers and ensuring effective volunteer-matching processes.
Facilitate volunteer training sessions, information sessions, and develop new resources and tools to support volunteers’ success in delivering STEM programs.
Coordinate data collection for program monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
Asset Creation and Support
Assist the operations team with creating and managing program assets, including training materials, digital content, and promotional resources.
Manage resource library updates for Operations Team
Support the STEM program's social media and web content updates.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
At least two years of experience in program coordination and/or volunteer management (or similar role)
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
Detail-oriented, ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Effectively plans, prioritizes, and executes tasks within designated timeframes
Strong written and verbal communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills
Desired Skills and Attributes
Passion for EWB-USA’s mission and STEM education, with the enthusiasm to inspire others to join and support in these areas
Ability to thrive in a creative, fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Google Suite, Salesforce and Monday.com
Previous experience with EWB-USA or similar organizations
Tactical understanding of social media platforms (primarily Instagram & LinkedIn)
Physical Demands and Work Environment (with or without accommodation)
Ability to sit or stand at a computer for extended periods
Ability to participate in virtual meetings
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, rarely up to 50 lbs
Travel Requirements
Minimal domestic travel to conferences and events
Location
Preference may be given to Denver-based applicants. Flexible location options may be considered for the following states (CA, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KA, MA, MN, MI, NY, NC, OH, OR, PA, RI, TN, UT, WA, WI). Occasional travel to Denver may be required.
Compensation & Benefits
Hiring Range: $60,000-$65,000
